Have you ever cut?

If so, why?
If you stopped, what made you stop?
If you've never done it, why not?

I used to cut myself a few years ago...
A girldfriend broke up with me and I was very depressed,
I had a friend that liked to cut himself all the time and he told me that doing
it was some kind of a way to replace emotional pain for physical pain.

I stopped doing it cause I felt it was stupid and I think that it was just because
I was starting to turn into a teenager

when i was a freshman i used to cut
mostly cause i was a weak person
physical and emotional wise
people called me names i would get depressed so i would cut
and the would pick on me for being little lol
but not any more. people dont pick on me or call me names
so i stopped cutting the summer before 10th grade

I've never thought of cutting myself or ending it for me. But it's constantly that I hold myself back from doing it to others. I'm a very strong person physically and mentally. I have a high tolerance for pain aswell.

It just give you ugly scars as a constant memory of it. I have friends that used to and it's a really unattractive thing to do.

I've thought about it. Sometimes my physical pain is so bad (I have a chronic pain condition), I thought that if I cut, the pain would redirect or something, but I never did it cause I knew it would be giving up and getting closer to worse things.

When the pain is too much to handle, I will lay on the shower floor with really hot water beating down on me or I'll just put the hot water on my thigh and feel that pain instead. It really does work but only while you're in the shower, after you get out and your leg stops hurting, your body hurts again...

But that's not replacing emotional pain with physical pain, it's replacing unbearable physical pain with something that is bearable and controllable.
