A girlfriend conundrum.

I've been having a problem these past few months, and I haven't been able to come up with a solution.

Ok, I just got a really good job making really good money. I absolutely love it.

My girlfriend moved back home to North Carolina after graduating. (I'm in Illinois.) I absolutely love her.

Here's the problem: She won't move back, because she wants to be with her family, and I don't want to give up this job.

Please give me some feedback, because I'm stuck.

Even if you love her do you think shes worth giving up your job?
Do you see her being with you in 5 years?
Could you do a long distance relationship?

I have been doing the long distance thing for about 3 months now, and the plan originally was for me to move to NC once she moved into her family's beach house. (Long story.) Our relationship has been good since she moved, and I don't love her any less. I really do think I could spend the rest of my life with her, we're almost a perfect match, but there are things that she does that get under my skin. (But that's any girl as far as I'm concerned. Sorry ladies. )

I jus don't know what to do. I don't think I could find a job as good as the one I have, especially because the economy is in such bad shape, but I don't want to pass up on something that could potentially be the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Is it a big company? Is there a building near there you could transfer to?
You need to consider your future. You need money for a baby later on if you are planning on getting married..

Yeah it's AT&T, but it's a sales position, and the county that I'm in is the 2nd or 3rd richest county in America. I just don't think I would make enough if I moved.

Oh, then I think you should set a target goal on your savings and when you reach that move to a NC AT&T

Best of luck on that. I truly hope it works out for you. I did the long distance thing and the biggest piece of advice I would give is that you both need to stay put until your sure you want to move. If you have hesitation, wait on it. It's better to wait and miss her for a while then to jump right into it and end up resenting the person because you moved and left everything you had for them (especially if you have a hard time of making it work in the new area with the crappy economy).

As was said before by other wiser people, save up a nice amount of money (and in the process you will be adding to your reputation in the company for being a good worker, good sales person, ect) and then consider a transfer. Most companies will do it once you've worked with them for 6months or a year or something like that.

Actually, missing her will be worse.
Talk with her reguraly. Make it seem like your in the same town just not living with her. That would make it so you can start to incorperate her in your daily life and you can just not be lonley.

Maybe get webcams to see how she is looking. If she looks stressed, talk it out. If she seems in a good mood, crack jokes. xD
