Great Grandmother Dying

So my Dad came into the house tonight and told me my Great Aunt had called and my Great Grandmother wasn't doing so well. I'm upset about it, but she's 106 so she's had a really good life and I really don't want her to suffer, I'm just upset my daughter won't get to know her.

well, all u could do is be there for her. U can just remind her of the times she was with u, hope i helped. I'm not expertised in all this but My when my great grandfather died at the age of 96, I spent my time to be with him even when exam was coming. Same thing I did for my Grandfather. I wish my deepest condolences.

Thank you bob. I went down to the nursing home and it really just doesn't even look like her anymore. She's lost about 30 lbs since I was there to see her a few months ago and she's having trouble breathing. She's so sad looking and one of my aunts even made the comment that she'll be able to finally be with my great grandfather (who I never met- he passed away over 40 years ago).

It's just so close to my Grandfather (her son) passing away as well. We had a five generation photo taken when my daughter was born and I have it framed with the four generation photo that was taken when I was born.

Actually I'm going to put those in my photo album on here too if anyone wants to see them.

This is something in life you've just gotta grind through, I've got no grandparents at all and I'm 16.
All you can do is comfort your great gran and hope she passes away as happy as she can be.

I know this may sound weird but it sounds like you shouldn't be upset. She lived a good long life. Celebrate that.

My Great Grandmother passed away last night. I am sad that she's gone, but at the same time I do recognize that she lived for 106 years and saw many things and had a loving family and lived her life to a full age. I will miss her, but she was sick for some time.

I just wanted to update and let everyone know and thank everyone for their support.

Nobody can live forever, and everybody has to go sometime, but 106 is longer than probably most people could live, the oldest person was what? 120?

she's movin to a better place =) and ur daughter will know her, because u will definitly hav the memories of ur great grandma and u, and u can share that with ur daughter, as well as that ur daughter will share with her own child when she grows up =) who knows, ur daughter might be inspired by ur great grand mother =) so just spend the last moments with ur grandmother, and learn from her, the ways of lifes and her experiences, because im sure, she is willing to share them =)
