Three New Suggestions

2. guide suggestion
3. gravedigging suggestion

1. rep reserve! read before you disregard xD
alright, here's a scenario:
you just made an awesome guide. somebody posts saying "i use this guide everyday! it helps me loads. +rep!" however, they edit their post, "edit: sorry! i have to spread. i owe you!"

- if you use the guide, the maker deserves some rep, especially if you promise it!
so what im suggesting:
a new feature, called rep reserve. where you can reserve rep for that person, and it automatically goes through after you have spread.
not sure if it can be done, but im betting something along those lines can be created.
example:
"what do you think of ian's post?
i approve
i disapprove
reserve reputation"
also, max rep reserve should be set at 5. that way nobody rep abuses.


2. after a certain period of time, a thread is closed after it hasn't been posted on.
leaving a guide unable to be edited by the maker.
also, people cannot post on it to offer update suggestions like, "oh, i found this! *insert info* you can update the guide now!"

- either...
guides should stay open permanently, or should stay open longer.
that way the guide is used more.

- not everyone is premium, and they can't all open threads.
keeping it open longer would be less of a inconvenience.


3. gravedigging is set at 1 week.
but i think it should be extended to 2 or 4 weeks, for guides and tutorials.
look at my 2nd suggestion for reasons why xD

It should definatly be more, I think.
and reserve rep sounds cool.

I agree with 1 and 2 , but 3 I don't know.
If a guide is so good it gets a sticky right? And posting in a sticky thread isn't gravedigging? I don't know :\

I think the reserve rep would be a good idea
and I think you can still edit your posts, even if a thread it locked
then when you update it, make a thread in the spam section and a mod could reopen/gravedig

yeah, i edited the post.
i always thought it was 2.
whenever i saw a newbie post in a 1 weeker, i was like
"damn! so close!"

I think that that when posts are edited the thread should appear on "New Posts" so everyone can notice it
