Suggestions for the Gfx Section

The purpose of this is to see your suggestions for the gfx section of the forum,
which has been somewhat inactive since we lost an important part of the gfx team...

So I want to see what you guys are looking for on the gfx section and
any suggestions you may have to make it more interesting, funny and whatnot...

Suggest new contests/competitions that me and Nat will organize,
we are just looking for new ideas to improve this forum section that has been
death for a while.

I'll keep this stickied for a few days, please post SERIOUS ideas/suggestions
and I'll +rep those ideas that get implemented or basically any good idea

Idea to be held on hold

When Darkztar expands its GFX community and has more GFXer makers we could develop Squads/Teams
.
So there should be about 3-6 teams all led by a member of darkztars GFX Team. About every month there could be a gfx con., wars, donations etc.

i dunno i didnt put much thought into wat i just mumbled...

yes, I like the idea, but for that to be accomplished we need some ways to call
users attention so they can be more like into the gfx section such as new contests and that stuff

I think we should make GFX part of the DZ description.
Like when we talk about DZ; we always see "Cheating & Chat forum."
Not "Cheating, Chat, and GFX forum!"

I think we could perhaps just advertise on other GFX sites to recruit more people interested in GFX to DZ.
I think it's not like GFX'ers don't have a lot to do here, because we have the mentor program and all of the sig competitions. I just think we need more people to participate who are dedicated to GFX mainly, and not other parts of the forum. <3

oh I like your idea Dani I don't know gfx forums, but I guess Nat does do
something about that, and you can do it too, it would be nice to see some people
with good gfx skills helping us

I was also thinking that maybe we could have like a Tutorial of the Week sort of thing?
Where the GFX team selects a nice tutorial (on or offsite) that we all can do over the week and post our outcomes and discuss what parts we think we did okay on and didn't do okay on?
It could be a good way to get people to practice some.
Idk. But I'd participate in something like that.

Idea:
At the bottom of Darkztar's layout (above the colour theme thing) we can show the winners of darkztar sotm and sotw.

I believe that this might get more people aware of this small section and heck maybe get some more gfx makers

Or, in the Top Stats section, there could be something about the members who won the most gfx competitions?
That might be too much, though.
But I think MC's is good.

wow, i would love to see a tut of the week.
That's something I'd be interested in for sure.
I think a lot of new gfx members just don't know where to start.
Also, we could try youtube vids,
like displayng darkztar's gfx work, and then attracting members to the mentor program?

maybe allow +rep or thanks, for non request sigs?
that would certainly motivate people
also, the ability to sell a sig for usd or np maybe?
not sure about that

But people do sigs for free already; so selling sigs might not work out.
I think YouTube advertising could be good.
If people like the idea I could make some vids~

Maybe do video gfx tutorials for a quick sig to draw people here?
