dang. you caught it xD
it came out too pixely. but what i did... i moved the whole image over, do that it made two renders, and i rippled it. it was really sharp, so i blurred it. and it came out with that

I like it.. It's just the focal point isn't very obvious. Maybe sharpen his face more or blur the background or use the dodge and burn tools to make it more clear.

the render needs to be sharper than the sides, I would say use the blur tool, but lower its opacity and go over the side effects. as it is, the background is sharper, and it confuses the depth. But Ian this is good work and I think you improve with each sig. nice work. keep it up xD
