How To Change Ur IP Address (Easy Way)

Okay this is a quick guide on how to change ur IP address

* Step 1
Go See ur IP address on a site for example
http://www.whatsmyip.org/
IP 1.JPG


* Step 2
Now go turn off ur modem/router next take out the ethernet cable on the router side ONLY, wait 1-5 minutes
(Varies on ur provider)

* Step 3
Put the ethernet back in and then it should be changed

If it does not work u can always do the overnight way all it is is above but instead of few minutes its a few hours like 9-10

Cause I tried to unplug it and leave it like that overnight and my IP still didn't change.

It varies on ur IP some can do this some cant mine is verizon im pretty sure comcast can do this too

if this doesn't work for you after 12 hours, then you have a dedicated static IP from your provider...you can always just give them a phone call and ask them to change it (if they need a reason, tell them you pissed someone off and they are trying to hack you with the current ip)

This is not always the case, I contacted my cable company to see if I can get an IP change and was told they could not change it and that it is set for 30 days. I turned off my modem for 48 hours and still got the same address My cable company also said that I will get the same address as long as someone on my circuit has not met that 30 day time period and requested a new address. The only way I have been able to get a new address is to clone my MAC address.

every time i connect t my modem through dial-up broadband i always get a different ip but if i connect then disconnect the reconnect i still have same ip

Im just happy with my current ip, (66.666.666.6666 (j/k, duh))
