Guide to Hiding Files From Parents :D(with pictures)

Okay so I got some time right now. I will write a tutorial on how to hide files from a parent or sibling or whomever. This is useful if you like your privacy. Remember this is for PRIVACY only you should not do naughty things like hiding your files from your parents. :]

Requirements:
-Windows XP
-Some knowledge

1. Right click on a folder and you should be in the general tab. Tick the "hidden" box and click apply and ok.


^ Should look like that.

Now the folder should disappear!

If you want it back follow these steps.

1.Go to control panel>View>Folder Options>and scroll down till it says "show hidden files and folders"
and also tick that then apply.






You should of got your folder back. Now repeat and rinse as you need to.

This is really cool xP this is useful if you have porno in your computer or anything you want to keep as a secret xD

Works with XP but should work with Vista also, but I haven't figured how to unhide the folder yet lol. The control panel is different in Vista.

Yeah, vista sucks, is just that I use my computer with windows vista to keep all those files that I need to hide lol

But this would be pointless if the person u are trying to hide from sets the Show Hidden AND System files option.
Coz thats how i've set by default in my user account and so have my dad and bro in their respective accounts

If you use the search feature it disable it

Its better to rar the folders and convert them to jpg

But most of the parents are n00bs for computers so this works great too

yeah, you are right Carlos xD my Mom doesn't know how to write with the keyboard lol, so I don't really have to worry about it

there is a better way to do this so that you dont have to view hidden folders, but still a nice guide^_^
