Getting ADMIN rights on Windows XP (EASY)

This works only for XP
Not Vista

Well are your parents ever putting on Account controls so you don't download anything like OUR Wonderful programs?

Well you don't have to put up with that anymore.

First Plan (Safe Mode):

• Restart your computer.
• Now when you see the black screen after the star up screen hit -F8-
• Now it will show you a black screen with writing on it you will see "safe mode" choose that.

• now you should be able to get on the admin accounts and make yourself admin of the computer

Second plan (CMD) :
{Note: will change the Admin's password.}
{Also for this step you dont have to be in SAFE Mode.}

• Press the start button.
  
• Now go to "run"
• Enter "CMD" or "Command"
• Now you will see a black prompt
• Type "Net User"
• press Enter
• Now it will show a list of Users remember the admins account name.
• Now type "Net user" again
• Dont press enter
• Now space and put a " * "
• Now press enter and Now it will say somthing like "type New password for user"

• type in the password you want and DONE you got ADMIN rights!

That is it for now.
Will show how to do it on Vista later

And the 2nd plan, do i need to access safe mode to do so?
Anyway nice tips and I hope you can continue on with the Vista part as I'm using Vista as well.
Try to add some colors as well and add some screenshots as well.

^ exactly.
also i'm pretty sure that if you don't have admin rights, net user is blocked. i'll have to try it though.

well..... if your parents opened on the ADMIN account and put a password on it then you wont have any chance from safe mode. but it should just come up

the second option requires you to have admin rights to begin with. The Cmd command is just the manual function for doing it via the help/support tabs on the start menu.

Also i think this only works for SP2 and below, the new SP3 doesn't seem to hold that function. Along with all Windows Xp student, home, and other editions that was not the original. There was also a Microsoft update that patched that.
