I am getting LG Viewty for christmas
As it is very cheap pay as you go, 120 pounds, around $200 and it is touchscreen, amazing camera, 3g and all that shit

Lol. When I asked my mom for an iPhone, she was like "Ok, sure. As long as it's not sold out at the AT&T store 10 minutes away." In the end, we ended up ordering it at the store and it came 9 days later.
Maybe parents don't like the iPhone because its plans are expensive. My mom pays a little over $100 a month for my plan. And it's 450 minutes, Unlimited Data, and Unlimited Text. The iPhone is a pretty good looking phone, but very expensive. x_X |

You should definitely consider Sony Ericsson G900 - released not too long ago. It is a touch screen with a 5 MP camera with high quality. Very very amazing features. WLAN connection (connect to any hot spot) and it's one of the best phones out there. Amazing interfaces with built in stylus pen. Love it!  I have the red one. Definitely CONSIDER!!! Very slim and light. I dropped it oh so many times and it has NO permanent scratches. Dropped it in a huge puddle and nothing was damaged. This shocked me hugely. Way better than the Nokia N95 I had before... aha |

Not sure if it's in your price range, lesser than the cost of an IPhone though - that's for sure.
I bought mine on eBay - brand new in box for around $400 USD. I've seen them go Brown/Red for $380 USD - $500 USD |
