Laptop or PC

Though Laptops tend to be pricey when it comes to repair....I'd
say a Laptop 'cause of there portability....basically you have to
see which feature matters most and base your decision on that....either
way most definitely get a warranty....well worth it

definitely a laptop so you can bring it to class and stuff. it also doesn't take up so much space in the dorms. and if you wanted a pc, you could always use the university's one .

I repeat, we don't have dorms or anything, we don't sleep at university, I go home after classes finish....

I will be attending a programming course, so I will need enough memory/ram to support multiple programming programs hehe.

Seeing the point that your going to university, a laptop would be more practical to study, and you can carry it for everywhere.

if u can live w/o gaming, go for laptop since it's portable for u in college

I have a laptop that I don't ever take to a school, but even then, I wouldn't trade it for a PC. It's just more compact. And if I ever need to lug it around anywhere, well, it wouldn't be impossible.

I don't know, I bought my laptop a year and a half ago now for £500, so it's gone down a bit. And it seems you can get it for about £400 now, so it isn't that pricey.

It might not run crysis or oblivion on top specs, but it runs company of heroes with quite a good framerate on medium-to-high graphics. I think as long as you pay an extra few quid not getting an intel media accelerator on-board graphics card it won't cut out most PC games. Go for a nvidia Go or ATI Xpress.

It'd just rule out jerking off over the trees on oblivion with 600x Anisotropic filtering and super-high-res textures.
