Laptop or PC
So I'm going to university in about 3months. I'll receiving some money for going to University (about $2,200) for the course I'll be attending. I'm buying a new laptop or Pc, haven't decided yet.

Which would be better? I'm not looking to take it with me to University, just use for home stuff basically. Would a laptop be better? Pros and cons? Thanks in advance

For school I would say a lap top as its easy to move around if needed.

With a computer its big and bulky and you wouldnt be able to bring it to class with you.

Now days laptops are not much diffrence in perforamnce than computers are, it all depends on what you want to do with it. If you are just using it for school work and browse the internet a laptop will be fine.

most college students use laptops, so you can use them to take notes in class

its very handy, since you can take it everywhere such as doing homework in the cafeteria etc.

I was thinking of a laptop as an obvious choice. But don't laptops tend to be a bugger if something goes wrong with them? I mean, aren't they expensive to repair?

Well, I think this is an easy question to answer. Laptop without a doubt. It is very convenient even though you do not plan to take it to University (which you should though) and with a PC, you can't move it around. What if you plan to travel and would like computer access with you? You can't pack up your PC and use a generator to power it up - haha I'd laugh if I ever saw one do that. A laptop is much more worthy and like I said, very VERY very convenient!

What are you doing in the university? If you going to use the Computer ALOT (like you doing somehting like, design) you should get a Desktop (i would suggest a mac, they are usually better than PC's)...Laptops are very versatile but its awful to work big things on it....
Otherwise, if you doing "normal" () things like Math or Physics, just go with Laptop :]

Get a laptop they are better to use for colleges because you can carry them around with you and if your interent dies you can just bring them with you to find a wireless access point to use them with.
